Duplicate Content Is No Longer Allowed

I remember years ago, well about 3 actually when I first started in Internet Marketing there was debate about duplicate content.

What was it?
are you allowed it?
when is it duplicate content?

Evenually we got some clarity on it all and it was said that duplicate content was when you had the same article on your website more than once. So Basically you had an article that you thought  was pretty good, and so you put it up into the blog again. Hopeing no-one would notice.. well of course Google did and so some sites got penalised because of that practise.

So we all made sure we didn’t do that.It was a long tiresome process writing your own articles on topics you had no idea about and then something magical happened…. an amazing gift to all internet marketers… the Auto Poster of which we were all delighted to get hold of and life was a breeze.

You simply installed the Article Poster onto your site and there you had instant content. It was wonderful. But then some people got really silly with it and started to do dumb things like back date content. That means the website was just brand new but for some stupid reason they would bring in articles using the autoposter and back date a year or 2 … how stupid is that, google is very smart. I could not believe that the so called “Guru’s” would promote that. So no wonder Google has decided to slap some of these very spammy websites.

Then the re-writers came along and some used those and never checked the rubbish that some articles became and then came spam blogs, known as Splogs. Full of content that didn’t make sense and didn’t give Googles customers a great search experiance either. Google after all wants it’s customers to have a good experiance because if they don’t they will use Bing or Yahoo to do their searches. So duplicate content had to go and I think this is the begining og Google tidying up alot of things that have got away of late.

Duplicate Content Blockers.

After a few months of Auto Posters being out people relised they were being punished by Google because they were getting duplicate articles coming into their sites, so the writers of the posters got smart and put all sorts of code to stop that from happening. So no more duplicate content coming into the sites. All is sweet, I got my Auto Poster Written and I am happy.

Knowing now that my Article Autoposter was not bringing in Duplicate Content as it had a blocker in there.. yeehaaaa…. Life is very good, I can go on holday or party knowing my sites were growing in content…

However last weekend all things changed with Google’s algorithm  and now the whole theory behind duplicate content has been re-written.

So you understand what we did, the Article Auto Posters would go out to the article directories and scrape in any articles that had our keyword in them, then they would pop the articles into our blog all on auot pilot, now how clever is that.. It was a great way to get content fast, and the writers of the artilces were also happy as it got their artilces published on some great sites.

I remember when I saw my videos and articles being used on other people sites it blew me away I was so excited and it was a great way to get traffic back to my site.

So many, including myself,  have built hundreds of sites, known more commonly as Adsense Sites,  sitting on autopilot with artilces and Videos all coming in on Atuo and you really don’t have to do much with them, however as said before that has now all changed…

Google has now changed their algorithm to prevent webspam from showing up in the search engine! Yes you got it… too much spam out there and so now Google has put a hold on the duplicate content.

Is There Away Round Duplicate Content?

So glad you asked

The answer is a yes … For those of you know who me, you will know I have always said you need to have at least one artilce on your site that is yours, you have written it, or you have had an outsourcer write it, but whatever it is yours and you set that as a Sticky. That is one answer. Most of my sites would have about 3 or 4 articles that I have had written, then I set a couple up as sticky’s and the others I put on a schedule to come in at given times.That way I have fresh unique content coming in.

Then I make sure that my articles are very well SEO’d on page and also then I do all the promotion of my articles through, Facebook, Twitter, Bookmarking, Database.It’s easier to promote your own articles rather than someone else’s so that’s why I like my own stuff on my sites.

Thats how I have got around the issue with Google, I always believed this would happen as there are too many out there putting up spam blogs and I have to say I have a large number of them and they are all about to come down or be changed.

There is another way round the Duplicate Content issue. I use a couple of different software programs that you may also find very helpful, one is a spinner and the other is a little different to just spinning it will  go out a find you every article on the topic and then write the article for you. The spin it and then it will also take the article and put it up against CopyScape .

What is copyscape well it’s an amazing program that will test your article up against like articles on the net and then tell you how much of it is the same. This program is awesome and I totally recommend it, I know some of my students are using it and also one of my out sourcers use it. Instant Article Wizard is the name of the software, there is an awesome video there you can watch and take a look and see if it will work for you.

Some of you have purchased the Article Rewriter and that will also help you come up with unique articles but you need to spin it to well over 50 percent then take it into copyscape and get them to take a look at it, if it needs more spinning then do more spinning.

What I often do is take the start of an article, spin it, then go from there I can usually come up with my own content after that, sometimes it’s just the begining that makes it really hard, once we have that we are away.

So there is a way round duplicate content, you don’t need to throw out your Article Posters you just need to have some of your own articles on the site using great keywords so your site can get ranked for the main keywords.

Also as said may many times before just have one article post and one video post come in each week on your auto posters and you will be right, it has to look human.

The reason we want great content is we want people to like our content, stay on our site and maybe buy things, so really what we want is Traffic.

So if Duplicate Content is not what you want then you need to come up with a way so it does not happen on your site.

I  have offered a couple of suggestions

• 1. write your own articles and put them on your site, at least 3 and make them stickys
• 2. get someone to write the articles for you
• 3. use the article re-writer and make sure you spin past the 50% and get checked with copy scape.
• 4. Use Instant Wizard to create articles for you
