Clone Your WordPress Blog

Why would you want to clone your wordpress blog? That is an excellent question. A couple of years ago I wanted to be able to make copies of my websites so I didn’t have to go through the same process of building over and over again. The WordPress Plugins were the most annoying for me just having to install them one by one, then I found a way to copy them all at once and move them to the new site I was building. I was very excited about that. It made building websites very quick and easy.

However I still had to sort the theme and then setup all the plugins and make sure they were all working properly which still took time. I figured if I could copy the whole site (without content) that would save me about 30 minutes and I could pump out these sites. Then along came a cloner that allowed us all to Clone your wordpress blog… now once I got it up and running it was very fast. The Cloner took the entire site and installed it directly where I wanted it to go. Then all I needed to do back then was put in my keywords into my auto posters and “Hey Presto” the site was up and humming. That meant I could really pump them out.

Then Google made some changes so I had to make changes, I no longer could use the same theme every time or even the same plugins as I noted that some of the sites lost their rankings… so in the end what I did was setup about 10 different blogs, with different themes and different plugins,  then all I had to do was decide which theme I wanted for each of the sites I was putting up. There is a good tip right there, don’t use the same theme all the time with all your sites, that’s if they are all on the same hosting account…

Read on and you will read  my sad story … it made me cry…

Cloning your wordpress blog can also be a backup

1. Backup: I am sure you have all heard stories of peoples websites disappearing or when updating you press the wrong button and delete out entire section of posts etc… I have done all. My Sad Story… One time I mistakenly put a new site over top of one of my main sites. I could not believe I did such a thing. My whole site was gone never to be seen again. I just sat down and cried. I could not believe how easy that was to do. Anyway it required a number of live chat calls to my hosting and after about 5 hours they got it all back up again. Minus a few posts but most of it was there. Phew…. I have had a site hacked and I have also on another site due to no fault of mine but a hosting error, loose all it’s content… I decided it was time to backup my sites. So now we backup and we backup the backups. I cannot go through that pain again.

2. Selling Websites. I sell websites. I would encourage some of you to do the same it’s a great idea. After all it’s virtual real estate and does have value. When I first started there were no cloner’ss so I had to outsource the moving of the sites. That turned out to be near disaster on a number of occasions so am delighted now for this amazing cloner that is fast and easy to move sites around with. So if you want to build and sell sites then cloning is the answer. Gary has had to clone many a business site and move it.

3. Building Sites for other people. We have built a number of websites for business’s and what we do is to build them on a sub-domain first so we can show them it allcoming together, then when it’s all ready to go, it’s just cloned and then put onto the correct domain. It’s so easy.

4. Testing Websites: Sometimes it’s hard to know when setting up a website… shall I use a video squeeze page, and sales letter type page, which colours will be best, shall I go light blue dark blue etc… this is another job for the Cloner…. build one of whatever you want to have, then clone it and change colours etc and do the changes on each one you clone, that way you save heaps of time not having to build pages, all you have to do is change colours or change titles whatever, am sure you get what I am saying. It’s just easy to make one, clone it change, etc you can have 5 or 6 different pages up at once and drive traffic to them and find out which is the better converter. Not only save time but money too.

5. Perfect for cloning membership sites. We have a number of membership sites, they are setup on this amazing theme that I have been shouting about for a while  you can read about it on the post Best Sales Theme. Anyway I quite like to have membership sites and so now we have a couple backed up and cloned so when I want another activated all we need to do is add it to the domain where we want it, and then finish setting it up. It is very clever, takes away a lot of setup time. In saying that it’s really Gary (my husband) that does all that work, before we had the WordPress Cloner though he had to do everything from the start.

6. Back up…. Well I know I already covered this but it is so important that I have to write it at the beginning and the end. So please backup. It’s very easy to Clone Your WordPress Blog and have that as a backup. You can have it sit on your hard drive and if anything was to go wrong online you can just get the backup straight backup online.

Are there other ways to do a backup? Good question, there are other ways. You can ask your Hosting compnay to do it for you. They may already do one, but you need to check. You can also pay your hosting company to do it for you as well. I have also written a blog post about a plugin that will also do a backup and then it will either send it to you, or you can ask it to put it in your cpanel. So I am going to go through this step by step to help you out.

Keyword Research:

So many people skip this or do it very badly. This is the hard part of  Internet marketing, keyword research is slow and boring

I always use Easy Niche Finder to do research and using that software will make it a breeze. So once you found the product either on Clickbank or Amazon or wherever you are getting the product from go please and do the research. Use the right tools and you will find it very easy to do. I guess the other hard thing is finding the product to promote but really that is another post. The videos and webinars that come with Easy Niche Finder are very easy to follow and they will give you lots of ideas and places to look for products to promote. So if you have not got a great product to help you with your Keyword research then go check out Easy Niche Finder. Please do not skip this part as it is vital. So many people come and tell me they cannot get on front page of Google and when I look at their sites they have no keywords or no idea of keywords and how to use them.

Keyword Rich Domain Name:

How important is this one. I cannot believe how often I come across peoples websites with such dumb names You need a URL that is keyword rich and what that means is when someone types a problem into Google as that is what a keyword is, then your website will show up… well hopefully – that’s if you have done everything else correctly. Usually when you do the Keyword Research (step one) then that will often become the Domain name.

Really important step that should not be missed.

The Right Platform – WordPress:

I build all my websites in WordPress these days… The reason why… it is so simple I can build them in minutes not hours. They are so easy to SEO with all the plugins you can add in it makes for great sites that rank well, easy to update and easy to change themes, the look of with just a press of a button. You could not ask for anything more simple than having your own hosted WordPress site. So it is the right platform to me, there is no discussion, I have HTML sites that have not ranked at all well in Google I have changed many of them over to wordpress and they almost rank over night. Love WordPress.

Permalinks:

Make sure you change your Permalinks in WordPress very important. I have videos on how to do that on Youtube.

SEO Plugins:

There are a few out there these days so I suggest you find the one you like and use it. They are great to help you with your SEO so you add in your keywords, your descriptions etc everything you need not only when you set up the site but every time you post or get a new page. This is so vital, along with all the other steps this is not to be missed out. I have a plugin which you can download for free that will help you with which plugins to use as it has 16 plugins all there in one installation. Fast SEO Plugin

The other SEO plugin we just love is Yoast, you can search for that in the WordPress plugins when in your dashboard of your site. It’s fantastic. I would say it is better than All In One SEO.

Quality Content:

There is a lot about this out there right now. You can write your own, get someone to write it for you, write one article and then spin it using special software, or you can use Blog Curation which is something I have been doing for a long while. That’s when you use  someone else’s content on your site, you must acknowledge where you got content from, then also you must write at least 10% of your own content in there as well. I find this so helpful and just love it. I have great software that I use that has a yearly payment that is so cheap probably 10 cups of coffee and your in, so helpful. This means that I don’t have to write brand new content everyday or whenever but I can use other peoples its an amazing concept. Whatever you do or however you do it, you need great content and you need it often. If you do everything that is listed above on every blog post you will find it easier to get ranked.

Social Media:

I love social media and use it to promote whatever it is I am doing. If you don’t have a Youtube channel, a Facebook and twitter account then you best go get that sorted out. I also use the Social Bookmarking sites as well to drive traffic back to my sites and fanpages. All important things that you really have to be doing. Back-links:

You cannot get lots of great traffic without lots of back-links. Also the more you have the higher you rank on Google, so you need to get lots. There are many great software packages out there that will help you I suggest you get hold of one or two of them and start getting back-links as fast as you can. I use a number of different sites here are two I will share with you. First one has free side and paid, so go with the free IM Automator and the other service is a paid service Drive More Traffic Online There are many but they are a great place to start along with some I mention on the 21 ways to get Traffic. Drive More Traffic even have a plugin that you upload to your site so after you have written your post you just click a couple of buttons and your blog post is now out there on over 30 Social Bookmarking sites and you just pressed a button. So if you have your pinging working on your site plus the plugin I just mentioned you will be way ahead of your competition.

The reason most people don’t use Video in their marketing is because they don’t know How to Create, Edit and Share Video in Minutes, for some it takes hours. I know some videos I have put together where I am the “Talking Head” as we say, I have done anything up to 50 takes, it is so frustrating, and I am sure many of you will know what I mean. 1. Where do you start? Find the niche, found out what you want to build your site around. There is a lot going on in the world today, people want answers to all sorts of things so go find out what people want to know, then provide the answer for them.

2. How do I find a product? In the How to do affiliate marketing infographic above there is a list of places you can go and find a product to promote so go there and see what you can find to sell.

3. How do I get paid? Well each place is a little different, some pay you into your account, some into Paypal and that’s the best way for me, some send a cheque. So read their fine print and find out what they do.

4. Do I have to have my own product? no you don’t just use someone else’s especially when starting out. Then down the track get your own product. Then instead of earning say 50% you earn 100% of the sales price.

5. Can I make money with Affiliate Marketing? Yes you can, you just have to do it right. It is a good idea to follow a system and I teach you a 7 Step System with the IMM Academy.

6. Do I need stock or a warehouse? No you don’t you use other peoples warehouses or you sell down loadable products. You can go and open an account at Clickbank and set yourself up to sell products from there.

7. Do I sell ebooks, software or physical product? you can sell whatever suits you. I would start off with Digital downloads it’s just easier when you are starting out.
