Changes in Facebook

There have been many changes in Facebook, I will be the first to say that, I have found them to be the best changes in going forward with Facebook. I know some are not too happy with the changes in Facebook and have gone on over to Google Plus or nothing at all… then the other side is we get to spend too much time now on Facebook keeping up with whats happening, the pictures look better, the time lines are very cool, the way you can now setup your cover picture is also amazzzzing.

So all in all I think the changes in Facebook are for the better and I find it hard to remember the way it used to be now. I can find an answer to that by visiting my iPad which does not seem to have updated itself as yet.

I am going to be hosting a Webinar this week that looks at all the changes and shows you how you can use them to your advantage.

Rather than run away from your favourite Social Media embrace it and use it like you have never used it before. It really is better, although there are something you need to look out for… Some security issues you need to be aware of, making sure you keep yourself and your family safe is very important. We will cover those issues in the webinar.

I will also show you how you can get your new Facebook Timeline if that has not become automatic by then as it should be, I think there are a few issues there to be sorted out.

It should be on your cards, your car, any sort of advertising that you do. The time is right for marketing on Facebook, I believe it’s the best time ever, even better than 6 months ago as the software available for you to do the marketing is so much better than it ever was. Everyone who has a business, a product or a brand needs to have some sort of Internet presence and right now the cheapest way is in Facebook. It is not the only way and in time may not be the best but it is certainly needed as part of your Online strategy.

The Changes in Facebook will go on and on…

I am really glad about that as we know that we live in a world that is always moving forward, are Facebook finished with the changes, no … not likely there are many more coming I am sure, next will be some changes to Business Pages/Fanpages there are some changes coming. The thing is if you are going to use the 3rd party product, as Facebook is then you are subject to their rules, if you don’t want to be then you need to move away from Facebook and use your Website only and just use Facebook to drive traffic to your site from just your profile. That has worked for a long time for me, and still does work, as I use lists and did from the start. Using lists in Facebook is very important… I will also show you more about that on the webinar.

Anyway enough, please be on the webinar with me, love to have you there and let me show you how you can use Facebook to return a great income to you if you want it. It’s there for the taking. I know others say that, and make these big promises well I’m not going to make big fat promises that in no way can come true… but you can and will make money if you watch what I do and do as I say :-)

How to install a sub-domain? well it is very easy. Make sure you can get access into your C-panel and then decide which URL or Web Address you want to attach the sub-domain to.

This is a question I have had a few times now and so I thought I would do a short video and show you and also tell you why you would use this feature.

 

Ok…. lets back track a little, before we get ahead of ourselves. Why would you want to use a sub-domain?

Lets give you a couple of ideas:

1. You have a chosen niche and everything you do will be in that niche

2. You have a limited budget and you can’t afford lots of domain names.

3. You are in MLM company and you have a website setup you can all use but want different names in subdomain

4. You just like the idea that you can make a great sentence with a sub-domain added :-)

These are all valid ideas and points. You will see in the video below I have used the sub-domain to great use in setting up websites to lease out in my community. So just by taking my city name I can add whatever in the front. Its very keyword rich as well. So you can do lots of things with the Sub-domain idea.

Does Google recognise a Subdomain.

 
Google Places ImageAs I am not Google I won’t even guess on this one. I can say however that I have seen many website URL’s at the top of Google that are sub-domains. Also in case of Business it’s fine with Google Places. So it won’t cost you to try it out will it, all I can say is make sure that what you put together in a subdomain makes sense and is in same niche. I am sure that will help, but cannot say for sure as Google has it’s own rules. Subdomain give You More options

It’s so ture it give you so many options, you can add whatever you want in the front and am sure some of you can be quite inventive and depending on the domain that you bought some domains could be quite funny and memorable. But as said above make sure you keep it all in the same niche when adding in the subdomain.

How to Use YouTube Embed Code

Here is a fairly short video on how to use the embed code from Youtube on your website.

As Youtube has made many changes and they will continue to make even more I imagine. It seems they are getting ready for the big change over at some point to the iframe technology … not sure when that is but right now as I show on the video it’s abit of a pain to many.

So follow the tips on the video and it will all work very well for you.

You need to use the Old Embed code for your videos for both website and Widget bar.

There is an iFrame plugin you can use for your website, but thats another plugin, for now go with the old embed code and the old Youtube link at the top and you should be good to go.

Always a good idea to turn the top option “Show suggested videos when the video finishes” off unless you have lots of videos in your channel or you will get all sorts of things coming in at the end of your video. I have over 150 videos so generally I am going to get another of my videos coming up at the end. That’s my good tip for the day.

Blogging For Profit?

It would seem that most people today are talking about Blogging.

I guess the big question I get is, can you make money by Blogging?

How often do I need to blog?

What do I blog about?

All good questions…. I have been blogging for a couple of years now; I have many different blogs covering lots of topics and on every blog site I have adverts and ways to monetize the site, so in answer to the second question, Yes! you can make money blogging, you just have to know how :-)

6 Tips For Blogging Success!

If you want to make money through blogging, creating a popular blog is the key to success. If your blog receives very little traffic, you will not have much success monetizing it. No matter which method you use to make money from your blog, you will find the most success if you have a large readership. Because of this, making your blog popular and growing readership should be one of your primary concerns.

There are many ways to make your blog more popular. The first thing you should consider is who your audience is and who you are writing for. You should always write about something that interests you, and that will interest others. You may think that your new kitten is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but there are probably not very many other people who want to read a blog about it, unless of course your blog happens to be about kittens :-)   It is best to find a niche audience that is large enough to support a wide readership but not too vague.

One of the great things about blogging is that you do not have to be a professional writer to have a popular blog. You do have to obey common grammatical rules and at least be able to put together coherent sentences, but you do not have to be a highly skilled writer. In fact some of my favourite blogs are ones that are what I would call sloppy English and the odd grammar issue and spelling errors as well.

1. Blog readers are looking for interesting, relevant topics to read, not the next work of Shakespeare. Make sure what you write is interesting, edgy, or even controversial. Popular blogs are never boring and add value to readers’ lives either through information or entertainment. Make sure your blog adds something of value to your reader’s life otherwise you will not develop a large fan base, and we need a large fan base to make it all work and to make the money that most bloggers are wanting from their sites.

2. Making your blog popular is a lot like driving traffic to a website. You can use many of the same techniques to drive traffic to your blog. Finding places to link back to your blog is a good way to drive traffic. Social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and You tube provide lots of opportunities for this. You can also use social book marking sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg to promote your blog. Blogging on a popular blog site such as WordPress and Blogger are also good ways to make your blog more popular as these blogging sites help to bring in traffic for your blog.

3. Whether you blog on a blogging network or you have an independently hosted blog, you need to make sure your blog is designed well. It is true that content is king and if a blog has great content it may receive lots of traffic even though it is ugly. Having a well designed blog that is not ugly or annoying will help to drive repeat traffic. You want your blog to look unique, but not too unique. Keep with internet formalities such as blue links and use large font for headings.

4. You should break your post up into small paragraphs each with a headline if possible as internet readers tend to scan the screen looking for relevant information rather than reading everything word for word. Make sure your colors do not contrast too harshly and that the text is easy to read. Using good design will make your blog aesthetically pleasing and make readers more likely to come back and remain on your page. I see many people like to use the black background and white letters, I personally find that just too hard to read. I am sure there are many Baby Boomers out there who struggle the same as I do trying to read these most difficult sites. Black on white is fine, the other way round is ok for the younger set who still have eyesight :-)

5. No matter where your blog is hosted, you should try to get it indexed by all the major search engines. Some forms of blog monetization require that your blog be indexed by search engines before they will allow you to participate in your program. The higher ranked your blog is, the more visitors you will receive and the more popular your blog will become. I would get any new site listed into the 3 main search engines as soon as possible and there is an easy way to do this using this Site Submission Link It also helps to send it out to all the Social Bookmarking and Social Networking sites as well.

6. All forms of monetization for your blog require readers to enjoy their stay, and their experiance. Before you try to implement your monetization strategies, make sure your blog has enough readers to make your efforts work. If there is no one to click your ads, visit your affiliate sites, or read your reviews, you do not stand much of a chance of making money. So make the articles interesting and informative.

How Often? … my suggestion is at least once a week. On this, my very own blog, I like to do all the blog posts myself and so I blog once or twice a week, sometimes more but if so, then I schedule the posts to come in over a period of one to 3 weeks, it just depends. In today’s amazing world, we don’t need to blog ourselves as we have all these amazing Autoposters that do the job for us. So once setup they will put in information on your topic as often as you set it for, both articles and videos. It is amazing.

What do I blog about?.. well it needs to be on topic thats for sure. So whatever the topic then you need to talk about it. If you run out of things to write about then either use the Autoposters or find someone you can interview. Once you interview them, then you can turn the interview into a video, by taking their main points putting them onto a power point and then using a program like Movie Making Programs or MS Movie Maker. It really is endless what you can do… but whatever you do have fun :-)
