Clone Your WordPress Blog

Why would you want to clone your wordpress blog? That is an excellent question. A couple of years ago I wanted to be able to make copies of my websites so I didn’t have to go through the same process of building over and over again. The WordPress Plugins were the most annoying for me just having to install them one by one, then I found a way to copy them all at once and move them to the new site I was building. I was very excited about that. It made building websites very quick and easy.

However I still had to sort the theme and then setup all the plugins and make sure they were all working properly which still took time. I figured if I could copy the whole site (without content) that would save me about 30 minutes and I could pump out these sites. Then along came a cloner that allowed us all to Clone your wordpress blog… now once I got it up and running it was very fast. The Cloner took the entire site and installed it directly where I wanted it to go. Then all I needed to do back then was put in my keywords into my auto posters and “Hey Presto” the site was up and humming. That meant I could really pump them out.

Then Google made some changes so I had to make changes, I no longer could use the same theme every time or even the same plugins as I noted that some of the sites lost their rankings… so in the end what I did was setup about 10 different blogs, with different themes and different plugins,  then all I had to do was decide which theme I wanted for each of the sites I was putting up. There is a good tip right there, don’t use the same theme all the time with all your sites, that’s if they are all on the same hosting account…

Read on and you will read  my sad story … it made me cry…

Cloning your wordpress blog can also be a backup

The other uses for a cloner are :

2. Selling your site then having to move it to the buyers site

3. Building sites for other people on your hosting then moving it to theirs

1. Backup: I am sure you have all heard stories of peoples websites disappearing or when updating you press the wrong button and delete out entire section of posts etc… I have done all. My Sad Story… One time I mistakenly put a new site over top of one of my main sites. I could not believe I did such a thing. My whole site was gone never to be seen again. I just sat down and cried. I could not believe how easy that was to do. Anyway it required a number of live chat calls to my hosting and after about 5 hours they got it all back up again. Minus a few posts but most of it was there. Phew…. I have had a site hacked and I have also on another site due to no fault of mine but a hosting error, loose all it’s content… I decided it was time to backup my sites. So now we backup and we backup the backups. I cannot go through that pain again.

2. Selling Websites. I sell websites. I would encourage some of you to do the same it’s a great idea. After all it’s virtual real estate and does have value. When I first started there were no cloner’ss so I had to outsource the moving of the sites. That turned out to be near disaster on a number of occasions so am delighted now for this amazing cloner that is fast and easy to move sites around with. So if you want to build and sell sites then cloning is the answer. Gary has had to clone many a business site and move it.

3. Building Sites for other people. We have built a number of websites for business’s and what we do is to build them on a sub-domain first so we can show them it allcoming together, then when it’s all ready to go, it’s just cloned and then put onto the correct domain. It’s so easy.

4. Testing Websites: Sometimes it’s hard to know when setting up a website… shall I use a video squeeze page, and sales letter type page, which colours will be best, shall I go light blue dark blue etc… this is another job for the Cloner…. build one of whatever you want to have, then clone it and change colours etc and do the changes on each one you clone, that way you save heaps of time not having to build pages, all you have to do is change colours or change titles whatever, am sure you get what I am saying. It’s just easy to make one, clone it change, etc you can have 5 or 6 different pages up at once and drive traffic to them and find out which is the better converter. Not only save time but money too.

5. Perfect for cloning membership sites. We have a number of membership sites, they are setup on this amazing theme that I have been shouting about for a while  you can read about it on the post Best Sales Theme. Anyway I quite like to have membership sites and so now we have a couple backed up and cloned so when I want another activated all we need to do is add it to the domain where we want it, and then finish setting it up. It is very clever, takes away a lot of setup time. In saying that it’s really Gary (my husband) that does all that work, before we had the WordPress Cloner though he had to do everything from the start.

6. Back up…. Well I know I already covered this but it is so important that I have to write it at the beginning and the end. So please backup. It’s very easy to Clone Your WordPress Blog and have that as a backup. You can have it sit on your hard drive and if anything was to go wrong online you can just get the backup straight backup online.

Are there other ways to do a backup? Good question, there are other ways. You can ask your Hosting compnay to do it for you. They may already do one, but you need to check. You can also pay your hosting company to do it for you as well. I have also written a blog post about a plugin that will also do a backup and then it will either send it to you, or you can ask it to put it in your cpanel. How To Create, Edit and Share Video In Minutes

The reason most people don’t use Video in their marketing is because they don’t know How to Create, Edit and Share Video in Minutes, for some it takes hours. I know some videos I have put together where I am the “Talking Head” as we say, I have done anything up to 50 takes, it is so frustrating, and I am sure many of you will know what I mean. I remember a friend of mine taking “Take after Take” to get something perfect , that is enough to put anyone off doing video, especially if you are going to be the Star Attraction :-)

How ever you having to be the Star Attraction is not always how you need to do a video. There are so many things you can do with video. Many of you will know of lots of people out there who got their start to Stardom through putting a video up on Youtube. It is completely amazing. I think of the many 100′s of students I have taught how to:

….so many things, all through video.  We just love video.  We need to use it in every part of our promotions… it does not matter if we are promoting ourselves, our brand or product or service we need to be using video. But as said earlier some people don’t want to use it because it is all to hard … but it’s not really hard.

Video is fast becoming the most effective traffic-generation tool online today… And YouTube is the top of the lead-generation sites. Search engines love videos, so it’s often much easier to show up on the first page of search engine results when video is used instead of text. “Where do I get FREE Pictures Online Gail”

That’s the question I get asked all day everyday. It’s important to have pictures on your Posts or your Website, Power Point and videos that are good, not blurry but most important than that, Pictures that are not got a Copyright on them. How annoying to complete an amazing video. put it up in YouTube then have someone see it and then flag you and your channel gets deleted.. Is that far fetched nope :-( I know this happened to one of my students and it was terrifying for them as not only did the channel disappear they also got an email from the company who owned this picture namely “National Geographic”.

How did they know ? you might ask, good question, they knew because their picture had a tracking on it, so they knew it had been downloaded and then somehow they tracked it through to the video and the YouTube channel, does my head in even thinking how that was all possible but it was and it did happen. So good idea to do things once and do it right.

There are many places online to get Free pictures online, however they can vary, some will say that you can use on a blog but not in video, others will say the other way round. It’s up to you really to read the fine print and I suggest you do.

This is just a small list, but you can spend hours going from one free place to another so I am sure you will find what you are looking for in any of these places.

There are some other great tips I would like to tell you about to, one is I take a picture into power point you can take it wherever you want, just easy for me to use that, and when I add a graphic in there, I double click on it, it brings up a selection of frames along the top bar, there you can select which ever one you want so it gets a new look and then you save it as a jpeg and then you can use that, looks better than just a plan image, like the one beside here, I just prettied it up, well actually it was standing up I just made it lie down. Which is a great idea.

It’s a good idea to have pictures in your post and with so many Free Pictures Online you can do it with ease.

Check out the video below and I just go through some places where you can get the pictures from and a couple of warnings and things you need to be very careful of. The video is almost 5 mins long, but you can skip through what you don’t need to know. :-) I give you permission, well that’s if you need it.

We then went on to discuss Fanpages and why you need one and also who needs a fanpage… Of course everyone needs one. If you are marketing online then you need a presence on Facebook not just to have a profile but also to have Fanpages. I show all that on the video as well.
